It was a bit harder for me to get into the second book, but as soon as I did, I couldn't put it down !
The world building takes a second place, in lieu of character development, which at times made me feel the story was going a bit slow.

OH MY GOODNESS. What in the literary masterpiece did I just read. THE BANTER, THE TENSION, THE HOOKS/CLIFFHANGERS. THIS BOOK WAS BREATHTAKING. By far it’s in my top 3 books of the year. I’m still in shock from how amazing this book was. The writing was beautiful, never once did I get bored (except when Kamran’s POVs showed up at the end, iykyk) , the characters- ugh so good, the romance- ugh even better. Overall I am blown away by how much I am enjoying this series and I can tell I’m going to be in the biggest book hangover when it’s finished.
i liked this one better than this woven kingdom but i still felt like we were doing nothing though!!! like the first maybe 5-6 chapters were just a recap of what happened in the last book.
i think there was too much being drawn out and i didn’t like the flip flopping between kamran and alizeh’s perspective that much. i was way more interested in what was happening with alizeh bc the kamran thing just felt like the same stuff being re-hashed.
i don’t get what kamran did for this like womp womp of his character. i don’t remember him being nearly this insufferable in twv.
i liked cyrus’s dynamic with alizeh and chapter 29 was amazing

The events in this book take place within the span of 24 hrs and I was enamored with it the whole time. I love Tahereh’s writing. A perfect balance of humor, tension, and devastating characters.
