the only love triangle to ever do it for me ever?
i abhor them usually but my god if i wasn't wholly invested in these three i don't know what i else i'd be invested in. kamran's melancholy agony, alizeh's silent hopelessness, cyrus's tortured suffering - the plot is so well-laid out; it's as if every chapter is tied together with a string that only pulls together and apart in the climax.
though i do have to say my heart is with kamran, i do appreciate the complexities of cyrus's character. i never get him, and when i think i do he goes and does something totally against my earlier perceptions. but maybe it's a me thing, and that i just enjoy the classic story of the duty-bound, morally upright, and dashing prince falling for the kind and resilient girl from nothing with a heart of gold. it is, however, a common theme within my recent reads that that girl will always end up with the villain, (as seen in shatter me) so we'll see, i suppose.
