A really enjoyable read. It's a YA romance, but it's also a lot more than that. Writing, creativity, trust, communication, acceptance, and healthy relationships were all all major themes. Refreshing and satisfying in this way.

Very character-driven. In fact, there isn't much of a plot. I think a stronger plot could have strengthened character development even more. Sam and Penny are very supportive of each other and have a lovely relationship, but neither of them change THAT much over the course of the book. In a way that's beautiful because they accept each other for who they are, scars and all. But I like seeing more character development in the novels I read.

Just wasn’t my thing 🤷‍♀️

Don't particularly like it or hate it. A great past time though. Too bored at work.

this book was cute. i feel like it’s meant for 7th graders though. i still enjoyed and can relate and feel empathy for the protagonists with their anxiety and mom issues. i’d give it a 5/10 def an easy read.

the only problem i have with this book is it doesn't have a sequel. I NEED TO KNOW WHAT HAPPENED BETWEEN PENNY AND SAM asdfghjkl

I enjoyed this book. However besides the concept it did not blow me away.

SpoilerPenny went off to college. She then met her roommates "uncle". He wasn't really her uncle he was by marriage. This person, Sam, becomes her emergency contact after Penny finds Sam in a bit of trouble. Sam and Penny text back and forth and help each other out over the year. Penny realizes that she is starting to fall for him and Sam the same. Do they take the chance?
