Was not a fan. I never have been a huge fan of romance like novels. the era it takes place in was really interesting but overall would never pick this book back up again.

The writing is stunning and I can see why it's considered an American Classic. The characters, places, and events are very well written and brought to life really well. However, there are a few things that kind of threw me out of the story a little bit. The racism is very rampant throughout the book. The characters frustrated me a lot throughout the book. I can see why they acted the way they did, but it really doesn't help me like them more. I had to pause the audiobook several times because of the racism and the frustrating characters. Overall, I'm glad that I read it. It's a decent read, but it isn't a favorite of mine nor will I be reading it again in the future.

All the shit this book gets is pretty valid but you can’t deny Mitchell ate those late 100 pages. Heart wrenching!
