This book was so boring and preachy in a way it did not need to be!

third act break up felt rushed and uncharacteristic for the characters. Epilogue was good but would have been great as the ending of the book instead of the the breakup and reconciliation that was written

Cute, but annoying in some of its predictability.

Oh, man. Happy sighs all around.
This was the sweetest book I've read in a long time. I wanted to hug basically every single character, from Rose's shamelessly and benevolently manipulative ex-in-laws to the high school softball team inexplicably loaded with goth girls. I wanted to hug Rose and Martin a lot. They'd both been through so much in their pasts, but they were also mature enough (yay for reading a romance starring two professionals in their early forties) to recognize the effect the past was having on them. They also both felt very real. Such a sweet book.

This book was so special!  I love fantastical romance, but I also love when a romance novel feels incredibly real like this masterpiece.

Both MCs—Rose & Martin— are Highschool AP History teachers in their mid-40s. I was nervous this book would be too close to home, but really enjoyed reading about these two incredibly competent people doing their job! This book honestly was inspiring to me as a teacher. Olivia Dade wrote one of Martin’s lessons into the book! It happened to be a gender-queer affirming lesson that warmed my heart.

If you are looking for more normal sized humans—this is the book for you. Rose is a tall and fat woman, she is described as taller than Martin with her shoes on.

Olivia Dade is **so** good at writing cinnamon roll heroes. I love her books so much.
