I was surprised I liked this book so much. I've read other books by the author and they didn't work for me. But I was invested in Rose & Martin's story. I appreciated the fact that the characters were older. I liked Martin's character and his relationship with his daughter. I did like Rose's character, but I also felt like we didn't really get to know her fully.

She had created such huge walls around her heart that I never really felt like they came down for us the readers.

I would also have liked to see more moments between the characters. Then I also felt like the ending was rushed a little.

Cute! Two teachers navigate school politics and fall in love. I loved Rose's bitter coffee outside and roasted marshmallow center. :-) I feel like I knew her.

Overall, a pretty good read!

While I enjoyed the banter and the way Olivia writes, I think I was a little underwhelmed with the characters seeming to be "perfect" right off the bat, and even as you dive more into their backstory, it still leaves you to believe they are more perfect people with maybe like one flaw.
