That was a nice contemporary romance, with real grown ups. Some of the plot or support characters were a bit over the top, but I didn't mind as much. Not sure though if I'll read another one from this series.

this took me by surprise!

i picked this book up on a whim from Hoopla and didn't have the highest hopes. i'd heard great things about Spoiler Alert, but mixed reviews about this author's backlist. but this was incredibly sweet.

it's about two middle aged teachers, scarred from their pasts, who come together and fall in love. it wasn't the most intricate/complex storyline but i really appreciated the plus size rep in this and how front and center consent was. and people who can communicate... HOT.

if you want something sweet and low angst, i'd recommend
medium-paced

Emotionally Intelligent Romance

Mutually vulnerable and compassionate principals made for a perfect pairing. The conflict was organic and internal as opposed to being laughably, insultingly manufactured for some act three nonsense. Will definitely read more Olivia Dade.

This book was extremely enjoyable, short, and had likeable characters. It’s definitely not something that’s going to stick with me, but I thoroughly enjoyed reading Rosé’s and Martin’s story.

Plus size fmc rep is always my favourite when reading romance novels. Cute story about two teachers.

3.5 to 4 stars. The parts where Rose shares her love of teaching are hands down my favorite parts. They had me tearing up. I liked Rose and Martin individually but their romance was just okay for me. This would be perfect for someone who loves a sweet, cinnamon roll hero and prickly heroine with low angst.
