I really liked this book, once I started listening I could not stop. It was the last thing I read before bed and the first thing I read when I woke up. The book was a little cheesy, but I thought both MCs were very likable, sincere and fit well together. I really liked that both MCs were older and knew what they wanted. Communication, consent and asking what they wanted was very prevalent in their relationship and tbh? That was sexy as hell! Their relationship helped them both grow into better stronger people, which I felt was realistic and healthy.

I loved the plus size rep and I really liked that Rose's body image wasn't her struggle. Fat people have other issues than just being fat (i'm not saying that societies hate of fat people isn't an issue, i'm just saying its nice to see a fat mc who has other struggles than just being fat). The only thing i wanted more was sexy times bc the scene we got was great and left me wanting more lmao.

All together I really enjoyed this and just might have to read more of Dade's backlist :)

This was a slowburning romance, with some lowkey drama. It was rather nice. But yes there is some drama.

Rose loves her job, and she is great at it. But then in comes a new teacher and her classes are given to him. Whaaat?! So she avoids him and curses the stupid guy who gave away her classes.

But Martin is really sweet, and fancies her, but she gives him the cold shoulder. He has been hurt in love, she has been hurt in love. It does not look good.

They become friends, they become more, but she is afraid of commitment. And then they lived happily ever after, and she learns who her real friends are.

I liked it, it felt real, they are both in their 40s. They have lived already, but yes still have things to learn.

I liked the narration. It felt mature and fitting. She had nice voices for everyone

3.5 ⭐️- Okayyyyyy this one was cute!! I loved the representation! Both characters are middle aged, divorcée, teachers and she is plus-size! From a plus-size, former teacher, there’s a lot I could relate to and love.

Cute! A 40+ year old teacher teacher romance with plus size representation? Yes, please! Very cute, and unexpectedly emotional.
