Ahhhhhh! This book was so cute!!! Alfred & Annette made it pure perfection.

Ok, I’m not too sure how I feel about this to be able to write a good review but overall I enjoyed the story enough to read it till the end but not enough to look into other works by this author.

I really liked that the h was confident and the H was the one that struggled with his self esteem here and they were both regular people, no killer bods here ! The H was very sweet and tender

Genre: Adult contemporary romance

The first book I read by Olivia Dade was Spoiler Alert, and I didn't really like it. But I'm always looking for plus-size representation, so I gave her a second chance. And I'm glad I did!

This was such a lovely romance about two mature people falling in love. Rose and Martin were both great, fleshed out characters who were lovable both together and separately. I loved how they complimented and contrasted each other.

I loved that Rose, as a plus-size woman, is unapologetic about her looks and about what she likes, is confident in her singleness, not a doormat and not ruled by her libido, and is not turned into a simpering moron by the presence of men!

I loved the explicit consent and appreciated the discussions of class, mental health, and abuse.

I just didn’t love this. The chemistry between the characters didn’t work for me and it just wasn’t that interesting. I think I didn’t mesh with the characters and struggled with the way Rose was and the reasons why. It wasn’t believable to me and just wasn’t great for me.

The best part about this book was that how different it was from any other book I have read of this genre!

This romance is spectacular. Not only does Olivia Dade perfectly capture the emotional roller coaster of being a teacher, she also creates two wonderfully unique and delightful characters. I love this book so much that I bought the paperback version AFTER buying the e-book. Well-written, nuanced, heartfelt. Hella sexy.

Five Stars for this beautiful story

This is my second Olivia Dade book and I will be reading many more! Her characters are human and emotionally intelligent and so real. Her prose is gorgeous. I loved the vulnerability of Martin and his ultimate strength. I adored Rose's story and admit to shedding some tears at the telling as well as any time there was any kind of student -teacher appreciation. The love story played out so naturally. I really fell for these characters.

Plot or Character Driven: Character
Strong character development: No
Loveable characters: Complicated
Diverse cast of characters: No
Flaws of characters a main focus: Yes

I loved that the main characters are in their 40’s. I can’t remember the last time I read a romance book focusing on romance past 20-30’s.
