Significantly underwhelming. Lacking any cheerful holiday spirit.
Wow. What a disappointment. Poor character development, which leads to unlikeable and boring main characters. Very predictable from beginning to end.
This novel is not a feel good holiday story. Instead, I was left feeling quite depressed. Death, resentment, and unforgiving characters describes this book.
The letters written to Noel basically had no meaning until the end. I already guessed who the letters were from before I even started reading.
I struggled to get through this until about eighty percent. While I actually did enjoy the last part somewhat, it was not enough to save this potentially three star review.

Another jem by Richard Paul Evans.
This one wasnt as predictable or formulaic as his other series.
There are alot of lesson is most if not all of his books.
The main one is communication. It is very very important to have proper communication. Without them alot of misunderstandings will happen and lives will be turned upside down for no reason other than lack of communication.

Oh man this book had all the feelings in it. I wasn’t expecting a tear feast and that’s exactly what I got, keep tissues near by while reading this book. In this story Noel has come home after 16 years because he estranged father fell ill and now has to come to terms with what really happened in her childhood. This story made me laugh and cry and I loved it. It reminds me of PS I Love You, and you get the same feelings too. I couldn’t stop reading and man do I wish we could have seen the story through her fathers eyes, but I’m not sure I could handle anymore crying. Everyone should read this story and maybe call their parents afterwards. I know I am.
This book will be much loved by fans of Hallmark Christmas movies. It hits all the marks. Big city woman returns to small hometown for family-related reasons. There is an old boyfriend, single with a lovable child. They go shopping for a Christmas tree. It’s all there.
Read this for book club. Overall consensus was that we didn’t like the main character much, but did agree that she had some growth from start to finish.
Not my cup of tea and not remarkably different than other books I’ve read in this genre, but a decent read. Some funny moments, some touching moments. If you like the sound of it, go for it.

Listen. I don't read cutesy Christmas books, but this one was gifted to me, and it featured a bookseller, so I gave it a try. And . . . I kind of liked it? Above all, it's the perfect salve for this year. Grab a cup of cocoa (or wine, in my case), sidle up to the lights of your Christmas tree, and enjoy the pure saccharine of it.
I skipped the religious parts, but I really was invested in Noel's quest for healing and love. Because there was a sweet tearful moment in the middle for me (no spoilers!), I expected to ugly cry at the end. But . . . I didn't. It was too pat to evoke even sentimental emotion. But that's okay because it's 2020, and we're dead inside.
Please note that the ⭐️⭐️⭐️ rating recognizes this book for what it is--a Hallmark movie in a pleasing font with deckled edges.

I really enjoyed this book! I loved the letters, and loved the quotes at the start of each chapter. This was very sweet and very Christmas-y!
