This was an enjoyable book, but I did get irritated by how much drama could have been avoided if either main character would have opened their mouths and just been honest about their feelings. I realize that is a tool for plot development, but it was super annoying how Daphne was always so caught up in her own feelings that she often would cut Miles off assuming that she knew what he was thinking and the reasons behind his actions. She often gaslighted him which made him struggle with his own self worth. Seriously?? And these characters love each other?? I’d hate to see how she would treat him if she hated him. Overall, I enjoyed the side characters more. Star Fire and Ashleigh were my favorite characters. I also liked Daphne’s mom. Her mom and Ashleigh had experienced real betrayal and heartbreak through their divorces, but both characters made the choice to continue living rather than wallowing in self pity like Daphne.
If a man EVER does to me what Peter did to Daphne I’m catching a case!!!!! Lol
3.5 ⭐️ The way she dragged tf out of the ending...otherwise a cute story. Did I laugh, sorry, did I GUFFAW? Well, no. But I believed Miles’ and Daphne’s love story and the baggage they carried, as well as how they navigated it was (mostly) well done.
