The same universe that dispassionately takes things away can bring you things you weren't imaginative enough to dream up.

Very cozy. Everything you want in a book

Oh, you know, another Emily Henry book. Cute and fun romcom, assorted tropes like fake dating, found family, quirky and eccentric sprinkle of characters.  You have a grand ol' time and then bam! You're in your feels. Miles' family trauma really resonated with me, and Daphne's also tugged at so many heartstrings. I'm not a huge romance genre reader, but Henry is always a guaranteed good time.

DID NOT FINISH: 48%

You know shit is bad when I'm DNF'ing the audiobook.

Maybe it's also because it's the audio book (11 hours!), but I'm certain 387 pages of absolutely nothing happening would've made me question my reading choices too.

This would've been an easy 2⭐️ if I'd pushed myself through it but there are better ways of spending my time. There's too much of the same unofficial dating and banter that I'll forget the second I've written this review. There's hints of an interesting story: family dynamics, petty revenge on an awful ex... but the story doesn't get into that (at least not the first 180 pages) so you're left wondering: what's the damn point?

Boring MC, nothingburger of a love interest with a kink for seeing his crush enjoy food. Would not recommend.
