This book was great! It would have been a five star read but I had to remove one star for killing off the dog.
Overall I thought Loren was an interesting FMC and she evolved a bit throughout the book so I’m definitely excited to see what else she and the rest of the characters can accomplish with the remainder of the series. The epilogue definitely left me wanting more and I enjoyed how even the main characters had questions about things at the end of this book so it’s not just the reader wondering about the plot lines that will obviously continue at least into book two.

I can't believe I got to 84% but I couldn't go any longer.
This book is 700 pages for no reason. There's so much filler that doesn't need to be there. There were glaring plot holes that I couldnt get over and things happening that didn't make sense.
At 65% I found our the FMC had a tongue ring? There was no mention of it before. I feel like if this is something that's a trait for her, that's a detail that should have been mentioned well before 64%. Not to mention it never gets mentioned again after that. So what was the point?
At 60% I find out that one of the devil's is the MMCs cousin. Again why am I finding that detail out at 60%? Why not when this character was first introduced? It also became a point that didn't matter as I continued Reading, it was never brought up again.
The characters personalities were insufferable. In the sense that I didn't even know what their personalities were. Loren was this nieve, innocent, virginal girl that was incredibly over sexualized but didn't know what to do? She was strong one page and then sobbing and making reckless decisions in the next page. I couldn't peg her down for anything. Her best friend is the absolute worst.

I did enjoy this book but the pacing was interesting. I feel like things that should have been shown/explained were passed by quickly and things that didn’t need to be focused on was written in detail. I overall like the plot and Darien/Loren relationship. The whole mystery of who Loren is and what powers she has is slow to reveal, I’m still confused but so is she so I guess it makes sense.
