I'm not normally into urban fantasy, but this one intrigued me. It started off really good, and I'm definitely a fan of Darien and the Devils. But the ending lost me, and I'm still unsure what the "conflict" was or who the bad guy is. I hope to find out as I keep reading the series.
The writing was well done, and the character development was good. I'm very intrigued by all the different types of monsters and their abilities.
I don't feel as connected to the side characters yet, and I wasn't a fan of Dallas. This book was very much about Loren and Darien.
I DID cry very hard at a certain part, which I won't say for spoilers, but just know that it was sad. So if an author can make me cry like that, they did a good job pulling at my heartstrings. I'm curious to see what happens next.
