Hmm. Not sure how I feel finishing this…
The first 100 or so pages felt like a slog to me. So much and nothing happened simultaneously.
The final 100 pages flowed a lot faster for me, though I never quite got lost in it. And the end has made me more confused than I think I meant to me?
All in all, fine?

An eventful and suspenseful light read. It's just not the kinda book I like.
This scratched that "reading Secret History for the first time" itch in a way a lot of dark academia books don't, for me. The final quarter of the book deviated from that a little bit and skewed more towards thriller tropes, but all in all, a really incredible, juicy, unique read.
I first went to Berlin at age 29 (around the same time as this novel) and thought "this place makes me want to be an expat," and somehow I was the next year, in Istanbul. This gave me some of that feeling again, though my experience was completely different than this tale of art parties and murder. Fun and wicked and shocking (and strangely endearing that this was just about young people on Facebook, just wait, kids!).
