Poor Bina is about to face her summer ALONE without her best friend Austin, who is off to summer camp. Yet week by week Bina begins to have new experiences that ultimately set her up to have a great 8th grade year.
Really approachable and relatable story. Grade 6 and up.

An enjoyable graphic novel about a transitional summer between childhood and teenagerhood and the tension puberty puts on boy-girl friendships. The illustrations were clever but never confusing, and the story was believable, light yet impactful in the way that all events are when you're 13. I probably won't continue with the series as I'm not the target audience, but if I was a preteen who was into music, I'd be all over this series.
A real neat slice-of-life summer vacay graphic novel with a girl protag learning guitar and loving music.
I read it in one go, it’s really engaging. Quite cheesy and predictable but great for YA. A coming of age summer story. The main character has great self analysis and coping skills. I wish there was more of this sort of thing around when I was a teenager.

Reminds me if this summer, much like the main character, I kind of just stayed home and did nothing
A graphic novel about a girl igniting her love for music? Of course, I enjoyed it! I also love how the characters had such distinct voices, especially Bina. Her summer shenanigans were so relatable. I really liked the art too!
