The ending was predictable however, I loved every page of this book. The love stories, the flipping between present and past, the highlights of friendship and family. Ugh, devoured this and cried when I finished it - I love Wyn

Love the writing, but the plot was just one giant miscommunication and there’s no way she would have given up her whole life’s work as a doctor to work on pottery.

Happy Place is the first book by Emily Henry that I have read and I liked it for the most part. The story and characters have a lot of depth and the writing style was nice to read and listen to. Julia Whelan did a great job as a narrator.Themes such as friendship, dealing with change, self-discovery etc. also had a place alongside the love story, which I found beautiful and coherent.
However, the story was a little too drawn out for me at times and the constantly recurring trope of miscommunication was just too much. All the drama could have been avoided, had the characters just talked to each other.

Emily Henry • Happy Place

What more can I say except Emily Henry has done it again?

* Second Chance Romance
* Holiday

Harriert and Wyn met in college and they’re perfect for each other. Each year they go on holiday with their friends to see the cabin, be with their favourite people and drink a little bit too much wine. Except this year Harriet and Wyn are lying because they broke up 6 months ago and didn’t tell any of their friends.

I actually really enjoyed this one. Emily Henry is the mother of all romance. She knows exactly how to channel that feeling of the early 2000’s rom com movie into a book and I love it.

This book felt like a soft, fluffy romance that I really didn’t expect much from. It was a perfect palate cleanser and a clean romance that didn’t have anything too heavy.

I rated Happy Place 4/5 stars and read it in 2 days.
