This book wasn’t bad. I expected more going into it but after finishing it, I will say that it wasn’t bad. It wasn’t great either though. Like many others have said, it’s not your traditional haunted house story. Almost immediately, the ghosts become un-scary due to the nature of the book. I do wish that it was tagged as a dark comedy or that I had read more reviews saying such beforehand because if I had known that going in, I likely would have adjusted my expectations and enjoyed this much more. However, it did have fun spooky vibes perfect for September, the intro into spooky season. If you don’t go into this expecting to be horrified and scarred for life, then you’ll enjoy it. It’s almost as if someone turned a campy horror movie into a book which is great! Just not what I was expecting and not totally my cup of tea.
This was an amazing horror story. I loved it!! I still don't know if she was being delulu or if it was actually real. I was at the edge of my seat reading this book. Definitely spooked me!!

I’m being super picky, giving this a 3.75/5. The beginning 40% was getting repetitive. I did like the humorous aspect and the characters, but it just dragged for me when it hit the 50% mark. I was debating on DNFing it, but I stuck around for the mystery aspect. The last 20ish% of this book was so thrilling; it really picked up and was executed so well. I loved it. I could visualize everything perfectly. It was very much like watching a movie. I loved that this concept was truly one of a kind, and that’s what I did enjoy. It’s the first 40% that’s stopping me from giving it a 4 star. It’s not a 5-star feeling book, but it’s pretty vibey for the spooky season.
