This was so so good. I don’t want to give too much away, but this was such a well written novel. Very descriptive and really got the point and plot across. I highly recommend if you like supernatural mysteries with a dark twist.
4.5 ⭐️ I loved the dynamic of a haunted house with both friendly/helpful and dangerous inhabitants. The author was clever in how she slowly revealed the true nature of certain relationships. I guessed something big pretty early on but the book had me constantly second guessing other elements to the story, so it was still very successful in that way.

as a horror fan, this was such a fun book to read!! i loved margaret within the first five pages, and it was so cool to see a genuinely unique main character in a haunted house novel. also loved that it provided commentary on some heavier topics without becoming pedantic or weird — kind of reminded me of the babadook in a way??
