The sheer amount of obscenity in this book is just lazy writing. Normally I enjoy Christopher Moore, but this one was just awful.

My first experience with this author and I'm not sure I'll try another one. Things about this book were entertaining and I was hopeful, but in general it felt like a convoluted mess without a point.

If you love A Midsummer's Nights Dreams you may dislike this immensely. Then again, if you love the shenanigans of MSND and you're reading a Christopher Moore novel you should expect him to treat his source material with both reverence and the same would you would treat a dirty trollop. Either way expect heinous fuckery most foul.
Extremely silly and filthy but also quite clever. A perfect getaway from reality for any English major or Shakespeare lover. Highly recommend listening via audiobook...the actor was fantastic.
