true enemies to lovers

I absolutely loved Maddox and Devon. The tension was so intense. The competitiveness doesn’t stop when they leave the track, it Carrie’s over into all the right places. Admitting they wanted each other but still argue, warms my heart. The spice was really nice!

I’m not normally a fan of enemies to lovers but this felt more like rivals to rivals in love which somehow worked for me. The angst was angsty but never too much. I love these boys

Ooohhhh the enemies to lovers are TRULY enemies in this one, and it’s EVERYTHING!!! The opening scene is awesome. Their rivalry, obsession, and deep passion for each other is soooo fun to read about.
The background subplots are a little poorly executed and not really important, but also easy to ignore. The main focus of this book is on Devon and Maddox, and their relationship is FIREY!!! You definitely gotta read this book.

I wish it was longer!

The story and plot are great, the dynamics of Maddox and Devon is absolute fire 🔥
I enjoyed every bit of this book! It's spicy and fun and the evolution of the character's relationship and interactions with each other is a huge part of the book. The boys never drift away from their "fight it out" mentality which provides a ton of drama and also comedic fun!
This book is pretty spicy. I'm giving it 🌶🌶🌶3/5 chilies on the spicy scale.
The guys get their HEA and on to Lot 62 we go!
I wish it was twice as long and I'm looking forward to book 2!

Update: AUDIOBOOK!
I've listened to it twice in a row, and it was amazing both times!
The narrators are great and totally sound like Maddox and Devon.
I will definitely listen again!
Dual narration, 2 narrators, 2 POVs, first person

UPDATE!: this has become my comfort listen 💜 and my go to if I'm ever in a slump. I love this book.

In my top 5 of 2024💕

Honestly, the covers were not of my liking so I had postponed reading this book for a while, but oh my God.
I thought let me give it a try and boom, couldn’t put this book down at all. Not even gonna lie but now I’m in love with the covers haha

Maddox and Devon have nothing close to a perfect and healthy relationship, but it works really well for them.
I mean, they don’t give a damn about getting physical so it wasn’t heavy to read the relatively violent scenes for me.

Pretty repetitive. I kept waiting for more character development but the entire plot was: we hate each other, let's hate-fuck. My biggest annoyance was switching character POVs felt like reading the same chapter twice. It was hard distinguishing between who was narrating because both MCs have the same voice and thoughts. Every "plot point" was too convenient, and I was really weirded out by the MCs brothers being sooooo into their sex-life. I'm glad I read it because I was interested in the premise, and it was a short read, but I'm not sure I'll continue on to book 2.

4.5⭐️

If we’re being completely honest, I think I judged this book by its cover, but going into it I wasn’t sure if I’d really enjoy it. Trusted the rec though, and here we are. I’m not sure I can fully explain what it was about these two that really made me so happy, but they found their happy—however unusual it may have been. Plus those meddling mother hen brothers of theirs were just an amazing addition to to the story.
