For so much of their "dynamic" I didn't feel a single ounce of chemistry between them and I hated the first character's attitude to the point i didnt wanna push through (not surprisingly, it was the "quiet" one i didnt fw) Not my thing to be honest, the pacing was all over the place and the plot was only there to serve as a background. Nothing concrete to hook me to it. Also one thing I fucking despise in books is when the characters fall flat and this did exactly that. It was so rushed and only thing hooking them to eachother is their want to have sex which rises from literally nowhere and it's just underwhelming.

Devon e Maddox si conoscono da sempre, anche perché quella di Garron Park è una comunità. Cresciuti nel campo roulotte, fino ai 10 anni sono stati amici, ma poi la rivalità, fomentata dai rispettivi padri, ha avuto la meglio, e ora a 25 non si limitano a sfidarsi sulle piste di motocross, e ogni occasione è buona per venire alle mani. L’odio reciproco, però, non basta a tenere a bada una crescente attrazione.

Che dire: un MM solido, basato sul trope enemies to lovers, una volta tanto non usato a casaccio, che funziona e in cui, sinceramente, non riesco a trovare difetti. C’è tensione, azione e momenti di tenerezza; forse ne avrei voluti un po’ di più, ma per questo c’è un secondo volume che spero regali ulteriori soddisfazioni.

It was a lot of tell and not so much show. The beginning was fun, but theb it kept repeating the same thing over and over again. There was barely any change in the characters and they fell kinda flat.

I can’t believe i snubbed this book for months. It was better than i expected. The primal and feral way these two needed each other was EVERYTHING. These two were completely ridiculous and it made me too happy. I was so in love with their dynamic and their story. I couldn’t put it down and I’m so glad there’s a book 2 and can’t wait to dive in for more stubborn MADDON love (yes i gave them a ship name)

Maddox and Devon completely surprised me and really stole my heart by the end of the book. I loved the tension and the discovery of new things for them. The journey to where they ended up was fun! Any kind of awakening is good… but when there isn’t even an ounce of shame involved? Ugh, so enjoyable.

Xavi and Nate made the story better too, their relationship is a little perplexing to me but I love them so much! These four are essentially a family unit and they are all precious (she says about grown men who just f*ck and fight all day long at the trailer park). 🥺

I just know the next book will have me deeper in my feels for them!
