Genuinely would’ve been 5 stars if the pandemic didn’t feature in it for literally no reason

I love Ann Patchett, she is definitely one of my favorite writers. But this was not my favorite of her books. Maybe my expectations were too high, especially since there was the theater element too, which I normally love. I think I will try the audiobook next time, since it's read by the goddess Meryl Streep.
