I love Ann Patchett, she is definitely one of my favorite writers. But this was not my favorite of her books. Maybe my expectations were too high, especially since there was the theater element too, which I normally love. I think I will try the audiobook next time, since it's read by the goddess Meryl Streep.

DNF.

I started listening to this audiobook on my commute. I thought, ooh Meryl Streep reading? Great! But even Meryl can’t interest me in this privileged family that seems to have no tension or conflict and who lay in cherry orchards listening to their mother’s youthful romantic stories. I was so bored.

Michigan forever.
