Sweet and light story. Like others, I found it after starting the anime. I liked reading it between appointments and bed since the stakes were low.

I bought this novel after having seen the first few episodes of the anime adaptation.
I really like this story. The premise is very much like a Cinderella story, but with it’s little twists what with the added fantasy elements and Meiji/Taisho era setting. That being said, what I most enjoyed about this novel was seeing how the main character’s attitude towards each other developed throughout the novel. The changes are subtle yes, but are pointedly spread throughout the story; it was really cute to witness.
I can’t wait to keep watching the anime!

I think I am quite enjoying my historical light novel phase. This story is set in Japan - wth slight fantasy elements. Tbh, the main character is a little annoying. How someone can be that dejected all the time, idk. I wish there was some way of boosting self-esteem into her.
