When I first heard about this book, the gore warnings turned me off from reading it, but with so many great reviews I eventually decided to check it out from the library and give it a shot. So worth it.

Was really boring. Not into body horror, and didn’t know that was going to be a big part of the book. The religious trauma and transphobia is also not for me. Didn’t think this was going to be a “happy” book, but at least thought it was going to be a funner read. I do really like post apocalyptic books and angels and demons, but this book just wasn’t for me.

Great book, incredibly unique and gripping. I loved it, even though it has flaws, the way it just didn't let me go from the story, not for a single second, made me forget every single thing I didn't love.

Hell Followed With Us was such an amazing book! Benji as a main character was relatable, well-written, and fleshed out (pun intended). The body horror was definitely body-horroring. The background of the apocalypse really kept me interested and I liked how details were slowly revealed over time. The world-building was especially really cool and felt like a bio-warfare version of Far Cry 5. My only point of contention is that I had to use a bit of suspension of disbelief when it came to the alt-right Christian cult allowing women and minorities to hold power in their ranks.
