I am not a huge fan of Tigerheart (tigerstar 2) or Dovewing. So, this book wasn't for me, but it was still fine. 8/10

Tigerheart’s Shadow is for me personally the worst Super Edition yet. Most aspects of this novel simply felt flat, especially the story and the characters. It’s honestly another filler book like Hawkwing's Journey and so, compared to other Warriors books, I have less to say about this one.
The plot was just weird, even for this series. Basically, Dovewing is pregnant with Tigerheart’s kits and has a dream that she should get her kits in a church in a metropolis – yes, a church. She leaves without Tigerheart who can’t decide if he should follow her or rebuild his Clan after the events of the first half of A Vision of Shadows. He later follows her and helps the cats living at the church. I think there are so much more interesting ways to tell a story about Tigerheart; I would love to read about his POV in the time of Omen of the Stars, see how the relationship of Dovewing and Tigerheart formed and how he felt when he wastraining at the Dark Forest . But instead, we get this strange premise. At the beginning, I found it kinda funny because of its weirdness. Later, I was just bored out and didn’t care because it was so dragged out.
Other parts of the story irritated me as well, likeour group on their way home meeting other cats from ShadowClan and waiting with them until their kittens are old enough to travel. They must’ve spent such a long time there, I’m not sure if that fits the timeline. Later, they run over a bridge that opens at the exact moment they walk over it, leaving Spire to die – such a strange death . I had another problem concerning the world building: In the course of the story, there are many human things that Tigerheart hasn’t seen before, so he describes them in such a strange way that I often didn’t know what was even meant.
Besides this weird story, we have some plot points often seen in the series: For one, the Clan cats push their culture onto other cat groups again. Tigerheart never once reflected if what he is doing is right. This reached its peak withSpire dying and Tigerheart giving him a warrior name after he died. I’m pretty sure Spire never asked to become a warrior, and what Tigerheart is doing is kinda insensitive . Second, they fight some arbitrary animals again (foxes this time).
My other big problem with Tigerheart’s Shadow was with the characters: I simply don’t care for Tigerheart and had often times troubles understanding why he acted the way he did. There were also way too many and new characters in Tigerheart’s Shadow that I couldn’t remember who who is.
There were some glimmers of hope though which made me still give two stars. I liked some of the non-Clan characters, like Fuzzball or Dash. Also, I found the idea of Tigerheart being at a metropolis funny and something different compared to the smaller cities the Clan cats normally visit. It was a nice world-building piece as well that the cats there have different accents than the cats from the forest.
My conclusion for Tigerheart’s Shadow is similar to the one for Hawkwing’s Journey: This book is not really necessary for understanding the things happening in A Vision of Shadows; it’s more a book for Tigerheart-fans (do you even exist?) and completionists of the series.

I love these books so much
Can Berryheart please have a novella

Probably the dullest out of all the AVoS books and its tie-ins. It's definitely got its strong points, but I just really didn't find myself enjoying this one too much.

While I always expect to be nonplussed by these books, I am consistently surprised by the issues that they tackle. In this case, the story line includes questions of loyalty, love, loss and even death. While I read this to my children (9 & 11) we had interesting and far-ranging conversations. Not a bad deal for one book from an enormous series.
As I am writing this review later, I have found out where this super edition overlaps with AVOS (A Vision of Shadows). I would recommend reading Tigerheart's Shadow in between the books Darkest Night (book 4 in AVOS series) and The Raging Storm (book 6 in series). This book was really good, the author's craft was excellent. The authors did an amazing job setting the mood and the tone with so much juicy imagery and descriptive words. Great book!
When I was growing up these books were my favorite series! I don't know how I fell out of them but somehow I did (which I sincerely regret). Thankfully, I rediscovered them this past summer and I am slowly reading all the books again. I am so happy to have rediscovered this wonderful series. This super edition of course is no exception. I absolutely loved it! I practically devoured this book! I really love how the cats personalities progress as the story goes on. I feel that by the end of their long journey they all have grown. I wish now that I were all caught up with the new story arc but I know that will come in due time. However, I thoroughly enjoyed this book despite not reading the new arc. I know fans young and old will enjoy this book.
Okay, it's more like 3.5 stars/5, but whatever. Here's my review. Spoilers ahead, I guess? But mostly humorous spoilers, so read at your own risk.
Join Tigerheart as he goes places where no warrior cat has gone before...the city...
I'm not joking. Be prepared for a wild ride unlike no other Warrior Cats Super Edition! In this book, our cats...
-Go to church!
-Ride the train!
-Steal from a BBQ!
-Somehow get 5 foxes into cat traps!
-Get a bird's eye view of what the lake looks like!
-Go garbage picking!
-And...experience a manga adventure at the end that has nothing to do with the main plot!!!
Okay, joking aside, this was probably the weirdest Warriors book to date. Which can be good or bad, I guess...it's nice to get a change from the usual, but...when it different just..too weird?
Nevertheless, I enjoyed the book. Some of the characters we meet in this book are more lovable than any cat we've met so far in the Vision of Shadows arc (move over, Alderheart and Violet/Twigpaw...make room for Spiresight!! Seriously, I loved him). Oh, and if you hate the pairing of Tiger X Dove....don't even bother with this book. Seriously. I love that pairing so I was pumped for this book but I know there's tons of haters out there. BUT if you don't read Tigerheart's Shadow, then be prepared to be HELLA confused about what happens between books 3 and 4 of A Vision of Shadows. Just saying...
