I really love hockey romance books, and wanted to give this one a try. Initially, a great start and intriguing plot, but the writing was just too straightforward and I found myself cringing. I constantly skipped over lines, many of which were not creative and generic.
The smut was just mediocre too, other than the first interaction, which happens too early on in the book. I think I prefer a slow burn, but in general the book’s scenes go by too quick and are way too fast-paced for my taste.

Such a quick light read. Nico is an amazing guy. I just love how protective and caring he is. And Harper…I love me an independent woman who goes after what she wants.

The story line was completely underdeveloped and was almost entirely focused on sex, which if you're here for something spicy, great. If you want story and character development with the spice, I'd look elsewhere.
