An enlightening book on menopause, although it focused a lot on hormone therapy which isn’t an option for everyone.

This isn't a good choice on audio because the second half of the book is a resource guide that doesn't make sense on audio. The first half is really good and informative!

It’s informative but i think at this point we all know that a) exercise (specifically strength training ) b) sleep and c) good nutrition are going to solve every single thing ever … and so is HRT.

I don’t know much about this multi-year life phase, but I understand a little more now.

It can be uncomfortable talking about menopause, probably because it involves parts of life we don’t often talk about, even between partners/spouses or perhaps not even with our doctors. This book has given me a bit more awareness of the scope of its effect, the relationship many of our body’s systems and parts have with the endocrine system, and the direct, indirect, and possible (if not fully accepted) impact that the body’s production of estrogen and progesterone has on a woman and their lives.

Prior to reading this book I had a very superficial understanding of a few of the symptomic effects (e.g. hot flashes, impact on irritability). What Dr. Haver has helped me with is seeing the correlation this has with sleep, sex, auto-immune conditions, emotional well-being, and relationships. Equally valuable to the volume of medical info were the first-hand accounts from women helping me better hear about the less-visible effects that misunderstanding from their spouses, doctors, and colleagues can have.

It’s a paradox that we spend so much time focusing on reproductive health, yet nearly zero time talking about how that time winds down, and how it can affect us.

This is a book that helps all of us. Please read it.
