Dang, this was pretty exciting and interesting!
I liked Daisy. She was tough but genuine.
The guys? I'm not sure. Bryce seems genuine. Rufio (Hook! Lol) was brooding but he started coming around. Phoenix broke my heart with his situation. And Morpheous was troubled and dark, but I liked him too.

I quite enjoyed this story ! It was fast paced, action packed, and it has been a while since I last read a reverse harem romance. It felt like a was a teenager all over again.
I liked the main characters, and even if some of them are bullies, there's a reason behind it, which is well developped. There's a lot of mysteries going on, and I can't wait to read more !
The only things that I didn't enjoyed was the slut shaming in the books (the word "whore" is used often to insult), and some connections with the boys that were not deep enough. Also, some intense scenes lacked descriptions, which left us out of them. But overall, it is a great book that tasted like nostalgia !

So I need more and cannot wait to start book 2 in the Gifted Academy series!
There is a divide in the world between the Idols and the Norms. Idols are those who have powers, the higher their power scale the closer to the gods the myths claim they decended from they are. Norms are the humans in the world. And fringes fall in between. Idols hate those who are less than them. Weaker. Insignificant. They will kill without mercy or remorse.
Daisy is a norm who ended up on a scholarship to Gifted Academy, a school catering to the prestigious Idols and Fringes, after struggling to keep her and her sister alive for years. But after an incident at the diner where she worked and a run in with four top Idols, she now has a target on her back. The four top Idols may not be the only ones who want Daisy dead. Can Daisy survive the school year?
This book was interesting. I can't wait to find about more about each of the characters, and what is going on- with each of them, and the school, and the bigger picture.
Daisy is a human, a norm. She doesn't have any powers. She barely has been scraping by her whole life taking care of her younger sister.
Rafio is a strong but ill-tempered Idol. He is ready to kill Daisy the first moment he laid eyes on her.
Bryce is Rafio's older and stronger brother. He is normally more level headed then Radio and his friends, and the voice of reason.
Phoenix is ready to see Daisy's downfall and humiliation. Norms shouldn't be on Idol's radar but for some reason, Daisy had piqued Phoenix interest.
Morpheus doesn't hate Norms or fringes like they were all taught to do since a young age, but they never are worth his attention either way. He is forced into close proximity when he needs a tutor.
The four Idols and Daisy may find themselves in over their heads, when feelings get involved, on top of everything else that is happening. Overall it was a good story & I can't wait to see what happens next, and learn more about each of the characters! 4⭐ out of 5⭐.

Wicked Gods is a novel that is packed full of tropes and so will appeal to a number of readers. It is a bully romance that is set in an academy, has elements of suspense and mystery, is developing into a reverse harem and is set in a paranormal world. Reading it like that it sounds chaotic and like it should be too much but Michelle Hercules manages to weave all these threads together to make Wicked Gods a fantastic read.
Set against the backdrop of a world divided into Idols (those with powers) and Norm (those without) Wicked Gods explores the concept of power corrupting those who hold it and the struggle of the oppressed. Daisy, a Norm, is shaped by her past to hate the Idols. Bryce, Rufio, Mopheus and Phoenix are likewise moulded by their upbringing to display contempt towards Norms. This leads to the crux of the story as their worlds continue to collide. I liked the depth that Michelle Hercules gave these characters, that their flaws were not obvious or stereotypical of the genre. This is a slow burn and while a reverse harem is promised it has yet to result.
The plot of Wicked Gods is intriguing with many elements still unresolved by the final page. The motivation of some major players are murky and make you want to pick up the next book straight away so it is a good thing the series is already complete.
Wicked Gods is a great start to an intriguing new series and would recommend it for readers of paranormal/fantasy, bully romance, academy, reverse harem, gods and magic.

Wicked Gods is the first book I have read by this author and I really enjoyed it. I have been eyeballing it since the new covers came out and it was suggested by a friend multiple times to read, so I have it a shot. I really like how the story and world building is set up, it's very unique.
I love a good bully book and the guys are ruthless on Daisy. They keep her at arms length, but yet cannot stay away. There are a few mean girls, and I know they will get what's coming to them. I like Daisy that she is tough for being a Norm, stands up for herself and is doing everything she can to protect her sister. Physically, she can only be so strong because everyone else around her is stronger.
I have questions and I can't really tell the motivation behind some things. I can't wait to read the rest of the series!
