I think this is one of the few bully romances that I actually like. I think the secret is to:
a. Never let one of them actually hurt her
b. make most of them idiots
c. make her too sassy for her own good.
I honestly didn't know that this was going to be a slowburn RH bully romance when I started it and it's far from the best one I've read. BUT it's an interesting world if absolutely nothing else. The magic system is very interesting and seems to incorporate a lot of tropes that don't seem to clash with each other yet. Consider me along for the ride.

Okay, I read this one because I had this on my list of authors attending Wild and Windy next year and I REALLY liked it more than I anticipated! I have to admit, I’m a SUCKER for an RH bully romance… and set it in an academy setting? Yes. I was a little skeptical at first because the characters are on the younger side (18) but I didn’t actually think they were too childish or immature. Their attitudes and reactions made sense given their age. And the MMCs? SOLD. A white haired MMC??? My Draco Malfoy loving heart was screaming. Overall I am very excited to see where the series goes and enjoyed it! If you’re a fan of ZA then this is very reminiscent of those vibes, and I think you’d find this a fun read!
4.5 stars
Great start to the series, there was progress without giving away too much. Lots of foreshadowing of things to come. The bullying was a bit OTT, but with OTT characters, it is to be expected.

4 stars for Wicked Gods by Michelle Hercules. This is book one in the Gifted Academy series. This is a paranormal reverse harem bully romance. I enjoyed every minute of this book. Daisy is a norm and norms are at the bottom in society among Idols and Fringe. She saw her parents murdered when she was only 10 years old and has been on her own , and raising her young sister since. I love Daisy’s character. She is strong, has a backbone, and stands up for herself against anyone even the Idols. When she meets Rufio, Bryce, Phoenix, and Morpheus it doesn’t go very well. Instantly she has a target on her back. She gets a scholarship to Gifted Academy , where there are only a couple norms. This is her best choice at making a better life for her and her sister. But that means she will be at school with idols who descended from gods. They are powerful and hate norms. Rufio, Morpheus,Bryce, and Phoenix set out to make Daisy’s life hell at the Academy. What they don’t expect is for Daisy to not give in. She is stronger than they think. I am intrigued by the world that Michelle Hercules has created. I am loving all the characters and learning about their abilities and everything. The storyline had me captivated, I could not put the book down. Rufio, Bryce, Phoenix, Morpheus, and Daisy have a strong chemistry. It jumps off the pages at you. The banter and witty comments make it that much better. I love that there is also this level of suspense , it makes it that much more intriguing. I am starting book two now.
A school for idols and fringes norms are not welcomed that is until Daisy is granted a scholarship Now she must not ever her true identity and surviving all the people who want to kill including the four most dangerous idols

The bullying and how crazy cruel the idols are was too much for me and I couldn’t finish the book. Gave up at 25% as the book was just making me pissed and frustrated.
***Mild Spoilers***
This book definitely takes some time to get into. I feel like there was quite a bit of exposition that was missing when I read this. I had no clue the depths of the class differences and, sure, you kind of get it towards the end of the first book but I wish they gave us more detail. It's all a little vague. I think that the second book will enlighten me more. I love reading through multiple perspectives. I think that is a good hallmark of a reverse harem because it's not all one-sided. Daisy is a strong female character who still makes teenage mistakes but she isn't a coward. It makes her endearing.
Bryce, Rufio, Phoenix, and Morpheus are an interesting bunch. I want to know more about what happened to them on that "island." I think Bryce is the most endearing and he definitely has my heart. I think that he and Daisy are the most realistic and equal in terms of how they treat each other in a relationship. I like that there is obvious tension because he is an Idol and she is a Norm. I like that he doesn't force himself on her, he treats her with respect. However, he does become a standby when she gets hurt which I don't like but makes him better, in my opinion, because he isn't suddenly this white knight who wants to protect her from his brother and friends. There is a build-up to when he does actually help her which makes it a stronger turning point.
Rufio is not my favorite purely because he really does act like a teenage boy who takes revenge too far. I can say the same about Phoenix but we get a glimpse of his personal life that makes me feel for him in a way that I don't with Rufio. I don't like them in general (right now) though because they both antagonize Daisy even when they know what they are doing is wrong.
Morpheus is an interesting character and I don't really have much of an opinion on him other than the fact that he is neutral for the most part. I do like that he has obvious flaws that make him relatable. I mean, most authors write their men with no other problems than family problems. But, he is struggling in math and actively wants to do better, to be better and I can get behind that.

A fun adventure
The characters are fun to get to know. I loved the multiple POVs. The storyline is exciting and kept me interested the whole time.
