So far this definitely hasn't been my favorite series. Bit better than the other one, but espionage and basic schemery sort of politics kind of bores me.

Alice Coldbreath was exactly as good as advertised. The language was beautiful, the characters were lovely and this book was an absolute treat. I can't wait to read more by her.

I don't really like books where the Hero treats the heroine badly due to "issues", spoiler below.
Despite that the book was really good, the plot kept me listening and I finished it after midnight despite being tired.
For reference: I love books 1 and 3. I have read/listened to Book 1 about 5 times and reread book 3 (quick note please, please sort out the Whispersync for this one) 4 times. This was only my second relisten of His Forsaken Bride and I gave it the same rating as last time.
Rating: 4 stars.
TLDR Book was overall good but I took a star off because Oswald was a d!ck. It managed to eek out 4 stars

this was kind of disappointing. not a ton going on with our couple but so much content abt roland and eden, una, and mathilde. i would have liked to see why either of them like each other so much but at least for fenella it seems like hero worship. she is also kind of a doormat. im sorry girl but no one is going to give you an award for being the most accommodating person ever. if youre hurt just say that. your husband does kind of suck.
