Sports (hockey), roommates to lovers, he fell first and harder

MMC: Halsey Holmes
FMC: Blakely Wilde

Holmes is just so sweet and clueless before he got his shit together lol🄹 the guys and penny were so not helpful but it was funny. Basically he had a huge crush on her for over a year..since he met her but she had a boyfriend so that wasn’t happening but now she’s single and needs a place to stay while her new apartment gets fixed and his place is offered. Now they’re roommates and it’s his chance to show her how it could be and make his move except his terribly awkward around her and his friends have taken it upon themselves to be his guide and help him get his girl. How helpful they will be is the question.

ā€œI woke up this morning thinking I have a game to prepare for, and that’s it. Now I might have a temporary roommate, but not only that. A roommate whose beauty and sweetness make me fucking lose all sense of myself.ā€

ā€œHalsey, you gave me your bed, and you chose to sleep on an air mattress. Why on earth would you do that?ā€ He sifts his fingers through his hair, pulling on the strands. ā€œWell, I didn’t want you not to have a bed. I’d rather sleep on an air mattress than make you sleep on one. It was an easy solution.ā€

ā€œI don’t think I’ve ever seen him this angry. Maybe on the ice before, but that’s different. That’s adrenaline. This is . . . this is outrage. He’s truly upset for me. And I disturbingly find it so hot.ā€

ā€œI’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again—Halsey is not my type. I’ve never thought of him as someone who checks the boxes. However, I’m learning that maybe my boxes have changed.ā€

Fresh. Funny. Fabulous. He's Not My Type turns romantic comedy on it's heart. Quinn gives an endearing salute to love. With a sardonic sense of humor, an irresistible cast of characters and the tempting unpredictability of romance, the Vancouver Agitators set a course to win hearts everywhere. With the charming, vocal styles of Crais and Mallon, as well as a few surprises along the way, Halsey and Blakely turn delightful fun into unforgettable. A can't put down crowd pleaser.

I'm a total sucker for secret pining, and with Halsey's quiet, reserved, slightly mysterious vibe, how could I not love this? Easily my favorite of the series.

I also adored the group chat chaos. Everyone rallying to help him win her over was hilarious, but also kinda wholesome.

Meghan just wrote one of my favorite love stories ever! Halsey & Blakely are a perfect match, the way they compliment each other really makes them the piece the other was missing. If you have read this series, then you have been anxiously waiting for Halsey’s story. I knew it was going to be an emotional ride and Meghan Quinn gave us that plus her classic hilarious moments. It was a perfect balance. I loved that we had the glimpse of Halsey & Blakely’s first meeting and to see how infatuated Halsey was with her. Now a year later, Halsey is still single, still struggling with his brother’s death but Blakely is newly single and looking for a place to live. Being roommates we got to see Halsey and Blakely get to know each other and try to relax around each other. They connected in certain ways and discussed their differences in others.

The Break Blakely Action Plan was both hilarious and a little sad. The way the guys helped Halsey was great, what better than a bunch of hockey players giving advice on love. But it made me sad for Halsey & how much he wanted her, I was anxious for him to finally win the girl! And win the girl he did! It was magic when it happened and they continued to prove how great they were. I enjoyed all the banter and I was laughing constantly. This book reminded me how much I love a good guy friend group because they were so much fun.

This might be the best audio ever produced. This full cast audio was everything and more. I wasn’t sure how I would do with a full cast, would I get people confused? Nope every single narrator kept me fully invested. Major props to Connor Crais though. The way he portrayed this broken man but still had to make him a bit confident on the ice while also adding in some humor. It couldn’t have been done any better!

Ehhh it was alright. Had its moments both good and bad.
