You don’t know what you want until you step out of your normal environment. That goes for work, friendships, relationships and even family. Sometimes the family that you choose is stronger and more caring than those of blood. Sometimes that relationship you’ve had for years is just for convenience and not love. This book shows you that there is more outside of your normal environment and that a little change is sometimes good, needed or even necessary but you won’t notice it until you’ve made the jump.

I have been equal parts excited and terrified to read this book. I knew Halsey’s journey was going to be painful but I also knew there was an awesome sweet man behind all that quiet. I was terrified because it leaves me with only one book in this series.
The beginning is all banter between the boys and it’s great. The bonds between them is as endearing and adorable as ever. We even get a new guy, OC, who fits right in. I imagine that Meghan will fit him into another series (perhaps the Almond Bay series?) because he was a prevalent and enjoyable side character.
Halsey is basically wonderful when he’s not taking advice from others and getting in his own way. He has a lot of guilt and PTSD that he hasn’t dealt with so can be insecure in some ways while being totally confident in others

Halsey Holmes and Blakely White are the definition of soul mate love. Halsey fell in love when he met her and she fell in love a year and a half later. For her it was unexpected for him it was everything he ever wanted and more. There was some conflicts towards the end of the book that made Blakely have to stand up and fight for their love for the both of them. This book was hilarious and sweet. It’s not a lighthearted book but it does remind me of what it would be like to ride and die for someone. Give it a read, you will not regret it.

TLDR: Best book in the series. All of the emotions happen in the last 10% of the book.
This book has a lot of things that are not my favorite. For literally 90% of the book, I thought this is good and the things that bother me about it aren't enough to overcome the good. It's fine. And then in the last 10% of the book... It almost made me write this book four stars. There is a lot of insta love and hot people dating hot people in this book. The relationship for me isn't founded in anything other than we find each other sexy. Which is in a relationship. I guess that's how relationships start a lot of the time but it's not sustainable. So I have a hard time investing in book relationships that have nothing but physical attraction. But now I know some people will say but they had more than that and here's why. Sure that's your opinion view and this is mine. I don't want to give anything away here but the love in the last 10% of this book *chef's kiss*. Absolutely beautiful ending that stuffed a whole book's worth of emotion into the last 10%.
