I got this on CD from the library. Why this book is narrated by a 66-year old woman is beyond me. Makes the 33-year old protagonist sound like she's smoked too much. Couldn't get through the first CD.
And another one... This sees Kinsey in the crosshairs again - this time when a someone she helped convict takes out a contract on her. Alongside this she's investigating the disappearance of an eccentric old lady. And it's her birthday and she's moving back to her apartment. I raced through this in one day and really enjoyed it.
Very intense ending - great entry for the series! Even the second time there were surprises
A cast-off book from a college roommate, this was the first Kinsey Millhone book I read. I clearly liked it, as I spent my money on A-F, and have read every subsequent entry in the series.
This one's my favourite. It has a nice new dynamic between Kinsey and her bodyguard, a mystery with English lit references, and family drama.
I thought it was so fun.

At first I wasn't really sure about this series or how much I liked Kinsey Millhone. Now I'm pretty sure she's sarcastic and snarky as all get out and I like it. Really decent "amateur" sleuth mystery that's a heck of a lot of fun.

This is the second time I have read this book, but it has been about 12 years since the first time so I don't have too much recollection of exactly what happened in the book.
It started out slow in my opinion and there wasn't really much mystery to figure out until about two thirds in. There was two interwoven plots going on, but the one was less mystery and more just an obstacle. When the mystery picked up I instantly got hooked and read through the last third almost uninterrupted.
I liked the character of Agnes and wished she was around more in the book, but that would have affected the flow I am sure.

3.5...This case moved a LOT faster, which I love! Kinsey's love life took a turn in the right direction. Maybe this series will get better with time!?
Es curioso cómo recordaba el tema del guardaespaldas, pero mi mente había borrado toda la investigación previa con Agnes Grey y la historia de las hermanas con nombres de Bronte. La cabeza a veces es muy selectiva.
