This wasn’t the conclusion I wanted it’s still fantastic and I loved seeing the stories come to a close but it didn’t feel quite right.  I also struggled to pick the book up but when I did u always loved it. Could be user error, probably is. I do love the world and Xiala and Iktan are some of my favorites. Just not a satisfying conclusion to me

Mirrored Heavens is the third and final installment in Rebecca Roanhorse’s Between Earth and Sky trilogy, and while in some ways, it’s the weakest in the trilogy, I finished it feeling satisfied with  how everything came together. The setting is expansive and well-drawn, as has become standard for this series, and I continue to adore the pre-Columbus Americas-inspired culture and mythos.
Some people have pointed out that this book felt a little rushed, as if it could have been expanded into four books, or each book perhaps might have been a little longer. I definitely feel that the most here, with some questions remaining unanswered. But with the Big Book Fear (credit to Jack Edwards for the term) setting in with some other recent reads, I, on the other hand, also appreciate Roanhorse packing the story with a lot of action and intrigue with each book, even if some substance was lost here and there.
And the character arcs and their relationships all feel substantive, especially given all they’ve been through. All the POV characters were all so distinct in terms of their narrative voice, and while sometimes the relationships felt a little tropey, it played off well against the otherwise bleak atmosphere around them.
While flawed, I really enjoyed this installment, as well as the series overall. I’d recommend it to readers interested in a vividly imagined, diverse fantasy.

Waaaah, I loved this book! A beautiful culmination of the stories in the previous two books of this trilogy. This is a world you can live in. Blood, shadow, love, sea, sun: it's all here waiting for you.

Satisfying ending to the series. I think a few of the minor characters could have been fleshed out a bit more to really drive home the ending but she delivered with the major characters. I loved these characters and the unique story.
