wow! i love the relationship progress between Alex and Jordan! always challenging and unpredictable! however, the age of heroine is too young to married a Duke? 18 years old?
however, i love the storyline. sweet. delicate. not too much sex scene. it's enough for me to give rating 4 of 5 to this story! :)

First book I read from Ms. Judith and I am new in the historical romance scene so it was a nice intro. Its cute, quite fluffy and help eased me into the sub-genre.
The yearning was sufficient, solid 3.5.

I liked the fact that they get some time apart to develop their characters cause at one point both mains were getting a bit cookie-cutter. There was a twists that was built-up but I found the payoff a bit disappointingThe yearning was sufficient, solid 3.5.
DNF. This book appeared on a list of the "best romance novels" that I found a while back. I picked it up, but it's sat on my shelf for ages. Tbh, it looked dull and so very 80s. It started okay, but not spectacularly. But I just felt icky reading it. It's not the actual ages of the main characters. She's only 17, but that wasn't uncommon for this time period. And he's 28ish, I think. The age difference isn't terrible. But she is just so incredibly child-like. And his inner monologue reveals that he thinks if her as the same. Yet, he's super attracted to her. It just feels icky. Beyond that, nothing here feels like something I have read before, but better. So DNF.

This one was good but not incredible like a kingdom of dreams. The timeline felt a bit weird mostly because we start with the female mic being a minor but I enjoyed how she was strong. I feel this is the kind of books I would like better upon a reread
There were many points in this story where I regretted bothering in the first place but it definitely redeemed itself towards the end.

I'm going to keep this short and sweet, because I went into this book blindly on a recommendation of a friend and I loved it!
The plot, the character development, the relationship development, the romance... everything was amazing. This book is almost 500 pages and I was not bored once. After reading this book I'm off to read many many books by Judith McNaught because I absolutely loved this one.

My main problem was that the very ending was too abrupt and I thought it should take longer for her to forgive him. His last act against someone he supposedly loved, even if she was treacherous, was taken too far. It was unforgivable, He has pretty much proven that that is his personality, 180s over and over. I would like to see that that stops just because the attempts stop.
Other than the very ending, I thought it was very good, better than the first in the series by not as good as the 3rd and last. Yes, I read that one first, still one of my favorite all time Historical Romances. If the last pages were just a little different or the ending a little more drawn out to show why she should forgive him, I would've given it a 5 stars.

to say she was going to be thrown into a dungeon and be taken by all the prison guards until she became too thin and spoiled, that they would get tired of her, as he had. What a threat and to make it to a person you love, even if you are hurt by them. Besides a Duke would have some way to quiet the speculation and "take care" of the duplicitous wife, like living in isolation. Just moments before he was convincing himself that she couldn't have done it. Then he does a 180. How can she ever be sure of him, ever? Time to show that he truly was brainwashed by Fawlkes, with all the speculation. And that he would not be doing it again, that is the 180 on treatment.Other than the very ending, I thought it was very good, better than the first in the series by not as good as the 3rd and last.
