I was in high school when I read this book for the first time, and it’s one of the best historical romances I’d ever read. I’ve read it multiple times since then.
Judith McNaught still has my heart! I read Something Wonderful over 20 year ago and it gave my jaded teenage heart all kinds of hope that I too would one day have a Jordan to my Alexandra. I always come back to this story and it's still delightful. I'll never publicly admit this, but it may have had a hand in naming Lexi.
As much as I love cold, ruthless heroes, I also wish they would talk to their wives and ask what was really going on, instead of starting to call them bitches and thinking they were trying to kill them all of a sudden. -.-

Hawk and Alex have an average story. The emotional up and downswings were too dramatic for me to enjoy.

Jordan keeps mistreating Alex. Alex keeps taking it. After all the abuse (lasted all 417 pages of it) on the last page Jordan is forgiven instantly.
The heroine being on the verge of death is a known trope, but Jordan needed to grovel. He didnt, the story wasn't satisfying and the HEA wasn't convincing.
Old school "romance" that leaves you with a bitter taste.

When I started this book I was concerned that it was going to follow the same story line as the first book. I was pleasantly surprised that it was not very similar at all.
I liked it. I really liked Alexandra. Jordan's character was good but not my favorite. The ending felt rushed. I wanted more of the last chapter. It felt like it ended so abruptly.
