Judith McNaught has this ability to create amazing masterpieces where you just forget about World and bask in JM's fantasy world bubble.

I loved this line..
“A lie is an affront to the soul, as well as an insult to the intelligence of the person to whom one lies.”Words from Alexandra, our sweet and affable heroine. Alexandra and Jordan couldn't be any more opposite. but you know what they they opposites attract.

I AM NOT SATISFIED WITH THE ENDING. MY DUDE SHOULD HAVE BEGGED FOR HER FORGIVNES MORE. UGHHHH. SHE DESERVES WAYYY BETTER SMH. I liked the book overall but not the ending. It felt very rushed and abrupt.

As a romance book, it gives you all the romance you need, like it promises. Mcnaught is one of the OGs so it’s not suprising. By the time it ends you are pleasantly satisfied.

Of course certain sentences and ideas botter you time to time. I tried to ignore them because of the time the story was taking place and the time the author wrote the book. ( She has some questionable books [like, whitney my love] so this one could be considered innocent even lol)

What can i say? Arrogant dukes and billionaire ceo’s bring out something primal from our souls as women. We just love seeing them on their knees before the heroine in the end.

This is my second book by this author and I've decided that she is really good at creating very realistic characters but still manages to write kind of boring books. LOL!

The character of Alexandra is painfully naive in the beginning, but by the end of the book she has truly transformed into a mature woman in a slow progression that is completely believable. Likewise, the character of Jordan changes from a rake to a man in love with his wife. So despite McNaught's ability to create characters that truly seeemd to have lived and grown, the 'action' of the book is where she falls short. She has strong hold on the emotional conflicts - when Alexandra learns about Jordan's philandering past I truly teared up. But the action seems to focus on a lot of misunderstandings (I can take one or two, but this book goes a bit overboard with it) and some murder attempts that really aren't delivered in a suspenseful or thrilling way. In fact, you almost forget about them because they are so brief and not brought up again. The villain is a throwaway character all together.

Very sweet

Classic JM characters with spunky heroine and hero with traumatic past and major anger issues. There is an age gap between these two which really bothered me, especially since he regarded her as a child repeatedly, so I took off a star, but overall JM’s writing couldn’t be defeated. It was a great read.
