This book sounds better than it really is. It was way too long and boring. Several of the characters were unlikeable and a bit pretentious. Don't waste your time reading it.

A not-so-lighthearted story about death, fate, and the immortality of art (and love) and its ability to communicate across time.

a great read but the story is waaay too detailed, which can obviously be a great thing but can also stray away from the actual story. the characters are well written and i love the plot of the novel.

I had been wanting to read this for so long. Had seen so much about, Best Book of The Year, Pulitzer Prize winner, and on and on. I finally got around to reading it and I have to say I was completely let down. I didn’t like any of the characters and when a book is 771 pages long it’s nice to care about at least one character. I will admit that I did like some parts of it but O feel like it could have been cut down to half it’s size. It got to a point at the end that I skimmed through most of it because it just kept rambling on. I guess I’m glad I finally read it but I just don’t understand all the hype.
