Book 2 in the Royal Trials series.
What to expect:
- secret identities
- magic
- kingdom politics
- multiple love interests
This book was a little over 200 pages. The relationships between Lo and the princes develops further but she I still wouldn't say everything is perfect.
The bigger focus of the series seems to be the mystery of Lo's identity and trying to thwart the king.
⭐️⭐️⭐️

Arrrgh cliffhangers drive me crazy, now I'll have to wait for months to see how this works out.
3 stars. I really enjoyed this quick read but I do have some criticism such as I wish Rybet was a more flawed character because her taking down a grown man with a little knife hitting his knee is well confusing. Also I wish the author wouldn’t cut important scenes off like the ending of this book with what happens because it feels rushed. If this book had like 10 more pages for me to deal with an emotional moment instead of cutting it off it would be 3.5 stars. With that said, I’m excited to continue this trilogy.
it was fine? i enjoyed it i guess? 2021 is my year of trashy romances it’s just no MK or hades, not that it ever claimed to be. i like the concept, it just felt flat?
How are there so many typos?? And really bad ones. It’s obvious no one proofread this. “…you wwerepretty badly hurt by then,” is probably my favorite. Aside from that, the writing is just blah, and the story is predictable. Right from chapter one of the first book, I already knew. The fact that this girl can’t pick, or that these guys are all fighting over a girl who makes out with one brother in front of the others? Unbelievable. For me, anyway…

The series is very predictable in some aspects but it doesn’t make the writing & plot bad. I love how Tate James writes. I love all of her reverse harems and her sassy heroines. Women can be strong & love sex & fighting in her worlds. I love it. I’m glad she tried her hand at fantasy novels. I love the princes, but in true Tate James fashion, this book ends in a MAJOR cliffhanger. So, I’m starting the third one immediately.
