Tessa Dare nailed this one. It's Pretty Woman/Cinderella/My Fair Lady meets the Regency. Plus Pauline has so much heart and their relationship is nuanced. I actually really felt for them in this. A+.

It was a good read. I felt like Pauline's love for Griff should have overcame the whole serving girl marrying a duke thing. It didn't make the sense that she was suddenly okay with marrying him after he gave a generous amount of his wealth away. She was still a duchess. But I still enjoyed reading it despite my complaints over the ending.

Adorable!

I really loved this one. I loved the h/h, and all the secondary characters, and the resolution was simply perfect. *happy sigh*

A romance with a heroine who loves to read and a handsome duke named Griff- what could be better? Of course there is some conflict to resolve - the duke has a hidden past that means his reason for not wanting to get married is more than simply wanting to remain a bachelor. His mother is determined to find him a bride though so she can have the grand-children she has been longing for. So she basically kidnaps Griff and takes him to the town of Spindle Cove (commonly known as Spinster Cove for the amount of single women who visit) and makes him choose a potential duchess. He chooses the one girl that is most unlikely to be a duchess - the deal is she will go to London for a week and have "duchess lessons". This is the fourth book in the Spindle Cove series but it didn't matter to read it first. I think the town is the only common factor.

It's true, I skipped a few books in this series, only because I wanted to consume the ones I really wanted.

As most Dare books, romantic comedy took centre stage with the bants and chemistry and characters you can't help but adore. What I didn't expect was that revelation that wholeheartedly broke my heart. I took a wild guess and I got it sorta right, but still. Flabbergasted and hurting. I wish we could have had a prolonged storyline with that subplot, because that takes quite the healing.

I can't say this book tops Colin and Min's, but that epilogue was quite the sweet end.
