Always interesting, always makes the history babies question either their life or their intelligence.

It was definitely an interesting text and it makes more sense if you read the Mahabharata or at least are familiar with it. In essence, it is quite philosophical, which makes it harder to understand, at least for me.
When reading this text it's important to know that it's not just a story, but India treats it as a sacred text, such as the Bible, so it is full of religious elements.
This part of the Mahabharata is a dialogue between Arjuna and Krishna, but as I said, it is quite difficult to understand, but it is definitely worth a look.

The second book assigned in my yoga teacher training. I read a different translation many years ago.

I'm not a fan of re-reading books. Not unless they're short and it's been years between each reading. There are too many stories to spend time going over old ground. However, I expect I will read the Gita (and Scott Pressfield's The Legend of Bagger Vance) many times over before I die. It is as Krishna tells Arjuna, on this path effort never goes to waste, and there is no failure. Even a little effort towards spiritual awareness will protect you from the greatest fear.

It’s hard to rate a religious text especially when you binged the last 3 chapters which are definitely not meant to be binged

I found the text to be insightful and interesting. A very good read, no matter what faith (or non-faith) a person may have it is worth the read.

I think that any religious person would get value out of reading this. I was surprised how many verses in it reminded me of Christian ideas and verses.

I'm ex-religious and not spiritual so I didn't get much out of it, but I could see reading it being a good experience to those who are.

The edition by Eknath Easwaran has good introduction commentary for each chapter.
