I love seeing the little things that appear across Tolkien's work-- in these two short stories, we've got good parties, fae people that live in the woods (one reads very closely as Galadriel), a sturdy and loyal horse, and the reminder of the need for good rope when one goes adventuring!
Could have done without the slight fat-shaming (I don't even really know if I'd call it that) and the frequent talk of beating the poor dog, but they're fun little stories nonetheless!
