Obsession Falls is a sweet, suspenseful small town romance and it was great revisiting Tilikum this time with the Haven brothers. Claire always writes characters I fall in love with and I adored Josiah and Audrey. They were complete opposites but her sunshine, optimistic personality was the perfect contrast to his grumpy personality. I loved how Josiah was protective and couldn’t stay away no matter how hard he tried. Audrey’s dog Max was one of the highlights of the story and it was hard not to fall in love him. Claire delivers another amazing story that will have you swooning, on the edge of your seat and full of small town charm.
This story was narrated by Ava Erickson, Connor Crais and Scott Rose. Ava Erickson was perfect at portraying Audrey’s sweet, sunshine personality. Connor brought out Josiah’s grumpy and protective personality. Scott was new to me and did a good job portraying Audrey’s stalker.

What was up with the squirrel obsession? That seemed to be the real focus of this book.

I haven't read a suspense romance in a while, so this kept me on my toes. I thought Audrey and Josiah had good chemistry, and the grumpy/sunshine aspect was a lot of fun. The pacing was nice, too, a little bit more of a slow burn than I've been used to. I did not guess the twist and was pretty sure I had it, so that was annoying. I wasn't shocked by it either. I liked that there was spice, but it didn't take up literal chapters. I think I've just been wanting a palate cleanser on that.

This one wasn't for me, and I think that, despite a couple of pretty good outliers, Claire Kingsley isn't for me.
This was supposed to be romantic suspense (I think). But it... wasn't. I never really felt like the romance between the MC's was developed well (we didn't experience much of their relationship development outside the suspense plotline). The character motivations were very generic and one-note. The dialogue felt flat, like the author was going for "realistic" but just ended up wasting wordcount on banality. While this was clearly a setup for a new series, too much of this book was wasted on setting up the other characters or harkening back to characters from previous series - not enough page space was left to fully develop these characters.
