We are getting the Haven brother's books and we start off with Josiah, the grump and he's perfection! When Audrey moves back home and ends up in Tilikum as Josiah's neighbor, landing in the life he never wanted her in, he suddenly finds himself saving her from a stalker and falling so hard for her. Throw in her Dog who steals some scenes and it's the perfect welcome back to the town we all love and have missed!

Maybe 2.75?

Look, this book was fine. It had a bit of a lukewarm romance and I could barely focus on it because I kept worrying about the whole stalker situation. I was very excited to start this series because I loved the Bailey Brothers series and I thought the Haven Brothers would have a similar vibe but it feels like this one is leaning less towards romance and more towards crime/thriller.

There’s something nostalgic about going back to Tilikum, but this time to start the stories of the Haven brothers. Audrey has to move home after she was let go from her job, and that was far from her original life plans; Josiah’s only goal is to remain alone because he is not lonely. Audrey and Josiah are the epitome of grumpy/sunshine. They meet after he runs into the house she is renting from his family and catches her unaware, while he is working on a new project next door. Throughout the book, their relationship grows, along with the small town rumors. I love that we got to see pieces of Tilikum we saw in past books, like the town hall meetings. More importantly, the squirrels are back, but something sinister is happening to them and to Audrey. I love that Josiah did not question her request to hold a squirrel funeral, and that the town formed a protection squad for the squirrels. This story is a good mix of funny and dark moments. I am so happy to be back in Tilikum and to see more adventures of the squirrels; I am excited for the next brother’s story. Thankfully, there are 6 of them, so we will have more in this world.

I really like these books but the marriage and babies after 6 weeks of knowing each other is such a turn off.

Claire Kingsley has another winner with Obsession Falls.

Josiah Haven is a loner and a grump. He's got a heart of gold, but the last thing he wants is to open himself up to feelings. He thinks that loving someone equates to them leaving, and he'd just rather be alone than hurt. Audrey Young grew up in Pinecrest, near Tilikum. She left after college and didn't think she'd ever go back, but after being downsized from her job, she and her cutie pie dog Max ended up working and living in Tilikum, in a rental house owned by the Havens. Josiah gets to know them while he's renovating the house next door. Unfortunately, Audrey has a stalker. There's not a huge amount of scary mystery, but there's a sense of suspense. They're so perfect for each other - nearly opposite personalities, and they definitely bring out the best in one another.

Quite a few fun references to other CK books, and even (I swear) a little bit of a nod to Lucy F. Score ;)

I can't wait to read this again - in a few days, because MORE NEW RELEASES are coming.

Adorable small town romance with the sunshine/grumpy trope, a cute dog, and a lovely dose of suspense.

Also the squirrels throughout the book were hilarious.
