We are back at Tilikum and I am so happy to see this small town along with some of the already known and loved characters and many new.

It's time for the Haven Brothers and first to his this hea is the oldest brother, Josiah.

He is grumpy, closed off and doesn't want a relationship so of course that is exactly when Audrey moves in next door to the house he is renovating.

The last thing she wanted is to be back home, at least she found a job and home in the next town giving her some distance from the people she knows.

But someone seems determined to drive her off the town, someone who wants to harm her and she has no idea who that might be.

The more danger is coming towards her the closer Josiah wants to be to her, it's time for the secluded brother to come out and protect her.

How I love a grumpy/sunshine, small town romantic suspense!

The romance is beautiful from the first unintentional and memorable first meeting. I loved seeing them come together and all the renovations happening at the same time. Her dog is a character all of it's own and he is adorable.

I am looking forward to next Haven brother book!

I think I might like the Haven family more than the Bailey family. I like that these characters were in their mid to late thirties. It makes for mature relationships when the characters are older so time isn’t wasted on unnecessary conflict. I still have similar criticisms to the author’s other books in that this was longer than necessary. I think she could have spent more time diving into both main characters childhoods since they clearly had an impact on both. But overall this was an easy read with a couple I could root for and no third act breakups are always a plus in my book.

Claire Kingsley (Haven Brothers, #1)

Tropes:
- Small town romance
- Grumpy/sunshine
- Stalker

I probably shouldn’t have read this at 3:30 am while living alone and already freaking out about the weird noises in my house but oh well!!

This was a cute, quick and easy read. It just didn’t hold my attention the whole time and there were parts where i felt like it dragged or it didn't need to be as long as it was. Still a good time though and would definitely consider picking up a book for Zach & Mari if that's what's coming next in [b:TBA|50621020|TBA (Haven Brothers, #2)|Claire Kingsley|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1691981155l/50621020._SY75_.jpg|75620015].

this was a great intro to this new series about the haven brothers. josiah & audrey were so fun to read about. their first meeting was everything. it was cute, hot and funny. but my absolute favorite was every time josiah thought about her or saw her after that, he would say “She’s not my problem.” until ultimately he switches it up and is like “Who am I kidding. she is my problem.” screaming. crying.

i was KICKING my feet in the air when they first kissed. TELL ME THAT WASNT HOT. dont worry, i’ll wait.

this was a great romance suspense. i loved that the stalker got a pov. his pov had me like WHO ARE YOU!!!?? REVEAL YOURSELF. imma tell you rn, i had no idea it was who it was. let’s just say that. WELL DONE CLAIRE!

the town meeting about the squirrels sent me into another dimension lmfao and what i loved most was that at the time that I read this, I hadn’tread the bailey brothers yet, but it didn’t make me feel like i was missing something. so this is for sure a complete standalone.

loved & def recommend if you love small town, grumpy/sunshine, & suspense.

Sometimes, you just need a simple romance novel to cleanse the palate. I've read a lot of dark thrillers lately and wanted to find something mildly suspenseful with a bit of romance and maybe in a series for some easy quick reads. This book did that for me. It's not some "OMG! READ THIS" type of book, but it felt like a good lifetime movie, perfect for a lazy weekend read. I gave it 4 stars because I think it succeeded in exactly what it was meant to be.

This was super fun! I read it in one night because I just couldn't put it down. It was easy reading, well written, smooth romance that felt like it developed naturally and not forced.
I loved the side plot! Added the perfect hint of excitement to what was otherwise a cute small town romance. I do wish we'd had a little more interaction between the culprit and the FMC as it did feel a little thrown out of the blue.
I wish we'd gotten more with his family all together, but I assume this was setting up for more to come out in the siblings books.
Otherwise loved it and definitely want to read more from Claire Kingsley.
