DNF @ pg 22 - there are some tense (past/present/future) issues with this book. It’s told from dual POV but it’s told as past *and* present tense and it’s already excruciating.

Enjoyed this book quite a lot! It has a stalking element so there is some suspense in the plot. Like both Josiah and Audrey together and liked the opposites attract trope. Happy to continue that series :)

I really enjoyed this book! It has a more intense vibe than some of Claire Kingsley's other series but I found the mystery aspect engaging. I did not guess the twist- which I am glad about. I would have been sad if my guess had been correct.
What I enjoyed:
Characters in their mid-thirties who experienced real-life situations like heartbreak, job loss, and making friends
Josiah and his dry humor/ lack of people skills
The term "lumbersnack"
The goofy doggie who really needs a fence
Tilikum Squirrels
I cannot wait to read the rest of this series.

It was fine. Nothing particularly memorable. The characters were a bit weak/mild and I never quite felt the pull of the relationship dynamics. Never quite got absorbed into the plot; even the suspense was marginally interesting but didn't really hold me. I found myself skimming it quite a bit.
Having said that - it's sweet and the small town feel is endearing. Maybe if I was more in the frame of mind for a gentle romance with some light spice, this would've been more appropriate.
