I enjoyed Josiah and Audrey's story. This was such a great grumpy sunshine story! The suspense was great, too, and Max is an adorable side kick.
3.5 stars
The fact I was able to correctly guess who the stoker was from the first time he was mentioned made the suspense plot very weak in my opinion. The reason for him hating Audrey was a bit of a surprise but still the suspense plot fell flat.
I did enjoy reading about Josiah and Audrey but overall, I felt the book was a bit too long.

“She was blue sky and sunshine,
plucky optimism and happiness.
I was a stoic cloud of pessimism and surliness.”

I really enjoyed this audiobook, also my first Claire Kingsley book. The narrators were great, the small-town romance x romantic suspense combo is new to me (I’m a fan), and the story had an easy quality to it.
The relationship between Audrey (who has reluctantly moved back to her hometown) and Josiah (her grumpy neighbor/landlord who gets all protective when he realises someone might be stalking her) was surprisingly low-angst. Josiah did not play games, and despite being a grump he was always there for Audrey (and her derpy dog Max), which got me all melty.
The story probably could have used more of an emotional punch, but even without that I found this book really easy to like. I’ll definitely be picking up other Claire Kingsley books.
