This was a cute story. I enjoy the grumpy meets sunshine trope. There was a little bit of suspense and I did not expect the twist that came!

I loved the Bailey Brothers series and have been waiting for the Havens. This didn’t disappoint.
Love, a bit of mystery, what more could I ask for.
Can’t wait for the rest of the series.

Y’ALL!!!!! I have read the Bailey Brothers series and the Havens have always been intriguing. I’m so so happy they’re finally getting a series and their stories are being told. And man Claire really delivered on Josiah Haven’s story
I loved how Audrey returns to her hometown to restart and figure her life out. I hate how her ex immediately starts annoying her. I hate that her stalker ruins her job and keeps leaving creepy messages and dead animals for her to find. I love Josiah and how he is immediately attracted to Audrey, and how he protects her and eventually saves her. I did not expect the stalker to be who it was. Overall, it was a great read!
The return to Tilikum we all needed
This first Haven brothers book was everything I needed and more. If you are new to CK as an author, you are in for a treat! I highly encourage you to go back to where it all began because it is amazing, though this series is designed to be read as a stand alone and you will definitely not be left missing anything. It’s set in the same wonderful world as the Bailey brothers series, but is a completely different series and style. The other series were interconnected stand-alones, meaning there was an underlying storyline that threaded through them all, while this series is written differently. The timeline is set a few years after the conclusion of the Bailey series, so the infamous Bailey/ Haven feud has been resolved, but we still have the same wonderful small town and those legendary Tilikum squirrels. Who knew that the flannel wearing lumberjack bad boy Haven brothers would be so swoony? As if CK would give us anything less?
This book gives us Josiah and Audrey’s story. Josiah is the grumpy to her sunshine. He’s the silent recluse who just wants to be left alone, and she’s the babbling when nervous, dog loving sweetheart that’s inexplicably drawn to the broody giant. I loved everything about their story, from their embarrassing meet-cute to the way she and her dog work their way past his defenses. There’s some suspense as she finds herself with an unexpected stalker, and all Josiah’s protective instincts kick into high gear. As usual, the writing is impeccable, and keeps you drawn in from page one. There are so many times that I find I like a storyline but the writing is technically flawed, or vice versa. CK is an author that never has an issue in that regard. The plot lines and characters are well developed, the storyline pulls you in and keeps you invested, and you feel all the emotions along the way. She quite brilliant, and I always look forward to reading her new releases, as well as cuddling up with a reread of the ones she’s already gifted us.

“I didn’t think I wanted this. But I do. Every morning when your stupid dog wakes me up with his wet nose in my face, I look at you sleeping next to me and I can’t imagine losing you.”

Claire Kingsley (Haven Brothers, #1)
Tropes:
- Small town romance
- Grumpy/sunshine
- Stalker
I probably shouldn’t have read this at 3:30 am while living alone and already freaking out about the weird noises in my house but oh well!!
This was a cute, quick and easy read. It just didn’t hold my attention the whole time and there were parts where i felt like it dragged or it didn't need to be as long as it was. Still a good time though and would definitely consider picking up a book for Zach & Mari if that's what's coming next in [b:TBA|50621020|TBA (Haven Brothers, #2)|Claire Kingsley|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1691981155l/50621020._SY75_.jpg|75620015].
